Beautifully located in a tranquil and private location above the arc of sunny Calheta, the air-conditioned This Side of Paradise has breath-taking views over the countryside and ocean and many additional premium features that make it a great holiday villa in Madeira.
The three bedrooms, spacious open plan living area and kitchen, and pool deck and sun terrace are all set over one floor, useful for those with restricted mobility.
Fully air-conditioned, PlayStation 5 and Apple TV (guests require their own accounts), Marshall Bluetooth speakers, SMEG appliances and a swimming pool with electric cover are some of the special features of this villa.
The front terrace features varied and premium outdoor seating and dining around the pool and sun-beds, and an interior barbecue room with built-in barbecue and sink, making it the perfect place for socialising and enjoy outdoor dining or a drink whilst appreciating those panoramic views.

For stays of longer than 7 nights, a change of linen and towels, and light mid-stay cleaning of bathrooms is provided on a day and time to be advised at check-in. All linen and towels are provided, including towels for the swimming pool. For health reasons, linen for a baby cot is not provided and you should bring your own. Guests need to vacate the villa during a mid-stay clean and change of linen. Nearby This Side of Paradise is located above Arco da Calheta overlooking the countryside and ocean. Close by, within walking distance is a restaurant and bar on a great viewpoint. In the village of Arco da Calheta is a mini-market, a couple of cafés and a snack-bar, and a country bakery.
On the outskirts you can find a further selection of country restaurants and snack-bars. Calheta Beach and Marina are a 5 minute drive.
Two golden sandy beaches for local safe swimming, a good selection of restaurants and bars and a well stocked supermarket.
Boat Charters for dolphin, whale watching and coastal cruising.
Deep sea fishing boats for charter for marlin fishing. A five minute drive takes you to the famous Casa Mudas Art Centre with year round exhibitions and a traditional sugar cane factory, one of only two left operating on the island.
You can tour the factory and sample the locally made famous poncha. The capital Funchal is a 30 minute car journey and the drive to the airport takes around 45 minutes. Booking Notes The advertised prices are generally based on a 4 person occupancy, and supplements apply should any additional people join you. To secure your reservation we require a 30% deposit and the balance is due 8 weeks prior to your arrival. Final details for check-in and driving instructions to the property will be sent 7 days prior to arrival.

Check-in times - at the property - are between 16H00 and 19H00. For Sunday arrivals and out of hours check-in, alternative arrangements will be made and an additional cost will apply. Check-in and check-out flexibility will be applied where possible, but this will depend on housekeeping schedules and the departure and arrival days of other reservations either side of your stay; a definitive answer can only be provided within 24 hours of your arrival for check-in and your departure for check-out. A security deposit of 300€ is required by credit card prior to check-in.
